Inbox Thinking

Since reading Getting Things Done last year, I’ve thought about how it teaches “Inbox Thinking”. You start thinking in terms of inboxes. (Or at least I do.)

For instance: whenever a flat surface appears at home, it’s just a matter of minutes until piles start to build on that flat surface. It has turned into an inbox!

Last week we went to Ikea. So there’s a not-so-flat package in the hall, but with a very flat surface. And voila:

Inbox Thinking: Whenever a flat surface appears, it turns into an inbox

So, as soon as you start thinking in terms of inboxes you want to minimize them. I have two; one mobile and one at home, in my GTD kitchen drawer:

My GTD Stuff

Which are your inboxes?
