Projects are Improvisations
Projects are conversations, and conversations are improvised. Yet I believe many would hesitate to acknowledge that projects are improvisations.
‘Improvisation’ sounds too sloppy, chaotic, unstructured, undisciplined, or whatever.
But improvisation isn’t chaotic, it relies on conventions, on structures and signs that are familiar to all involved parties. Improvisation continuously invents new such conventions that add to the shared set, to elevate further improvisation.
