When John Galliano became chief designer at Christian Dior, did he continue doing Galliano stuff, or did he subordinate himself to some extent to “Diorness?” The chemistry of expressions.
Perhaps it’s the same thing when, for instance, famous car designers work with different car companies: each car must still be perceivable as a Volvo, or a Mercedes, or whatever, while at the same time being an expression in the language of that particular designer.
