Splicing Upcoming.org Events In FeedBurner Feeds

I’m a recent FeedBurner convert, and besides splicing in my Flickr photostream, I’d like to splice in my Upcoming.org events as well. I raised the question in the FeedBurner forums and got the following reply, which I’ll have to think about:

The one “issue” I’ve always had with splicing in event information is that I don’t know how well it meshes with the RSS data model. For example, if there’s an event for two months in the future, when is it appropriate to begin to splice that item into the RSS stream? What would be the date assigned to the item?

My spontaneous thought is that I want them spliced upon creation, or when I add myself as “watching” or “attending.” This is what I used to do: create the event, or add myself to it, and post a link to it at del.icio.us, then syndicate them back into the weblog.

(The reason I don’t splice my del.icio.us links is that I intend to post them here, then have my weblog software post the links to del.icio.us.)

The above was posted to my personal weblog on January 26, 2005. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
