Tesugen

Licensing

Today, Creative Commons launched, so I have switched licenses for this weblog and The Sweden Weblog. Here, there’s basically no change: everything is allowed as long as you mention my name; but for the Sweden Weblog, I chose to dedicate all posts to the public domain – because it felt like the right thing to do.

This project I knew of, and I have meant to switch license ever since I first learned about it. However, they unveiled another project today: Founders’ Copyright – a license that is in harmony with the first American copyright law, created in 1790, which “granted authors a monopoly right over their creations for 14 years”, after which they enter the public domain. O’Reilly will be the first to adopt this.

The above was posted to my personal weblog on December 16, 2002. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
