Moving

I’m packing stuff since we’re moving to our new apartment. We inked the final papers today, transferred money and got the keys today. When we met the people selling the apartment today, I learned that the place has got “true broadband”: 10 Mbps duplex from Bredbandsbolaget (“The Broad Band Company”). I currently have a 2.5 Mbps/768 Kbps (down/up) ADSL from Bostream which will cost more per month than the 10 Mbps connection, and I have to pay SEK 1295 for moving it and won’t be able to use it for 1 to 3 weeks!

And as I studied the terms of the contract, I read that it will be regarded as a renewed contract after the move, and thus the monthly rate will go up from SEK 249 to 449 (if I’m not mistaken). I hope I can get out of it somehow.

As for “true broadband”, the Swedish government has defined broadband as any connection that is 5 Mbps or faster. But everything from 0.5 Mbps is called broadband by the providers.

Why am I writing this? I don’t know. I just wanted to type before going to bed.
