Thoughts on architecture

Some thoughts on architecture from the shower: architecture is always “meta”. Meta-structure, meta-design etc. It describes the principles of the structure or the design. I re-read the Architectural Blueprints: The 4+1 View Model of Architecture (PDF) paper by Philippe Kruchten. And I understand more of it now. I wonder if, as he claims, these 4+1 views are sufficient: Logical, Physical, Process and Development plus Scenarios. I will have to think about this.

The above was posted to my personal weblog on August 2, 2002. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
