Back on 10.1.4
I reinstalled Mac OS X 10.1.4 this morning, from having aspired to use Jaguar. It’s not that it’s bad or anything – in fact I will feel frustrated not having all the things in Jaguar, like a fast Finder, overall better performance, heavily improved Mail.app, etc. The reason for switching is that the sum of all minor bugs were too annoying in the long run. Each of these bugs are trivial, but often trivial bugs are very annoying.
One thing was that our internal chat client could fall out of sync with the server, so that you had to send a message to get the last one. I rely in my work on being able to chat with my colleagues. Then there were some minor quirks in Mail.app that I didn’t feel comfortable with.
But there’s lots of good stuff in Jaguar and I can’t wait for it to be released. It’s at least of some comfort that I will (probably) get my .768 GIGABYTES of RAM tomorrow.
