objC retain

Kjell has received his [objC retain]; mug. Kjell is a big fan of (and also introduced me to) Darjeeling tea, and I can imagine that this mug will soon have – as is often the case with his mugs – a slightly Darjeeling tinted interior.

Kjell writes that the [objC retain]; slogan is about that Apple should practice what they preach – which is that Cocoa is the platform of choice for developing Mac OS X apps, while Carbon is primarily for porting old apps. So, instead of adding new stuff in C (like CFNetwork, which will be presented at WWDC), Apple should be providing Objective-C frameworks.

So be sure to wear the slogan at WWDC 2002! Check out the [objC retain]; store!
