Tesugen

Google is Strange

Hmm. Now it seems like at least part of the temporary index has been purged. There’s no longer 24 referrers to this site when searching for tesugen. And this fact seems to have removed me from the main index, which seems strange. Can

This – if not confirms, at least makes stronger – my suspicion that pages from sites that are in the main index get added to the temporary index, and therefore can be out of Google the next day. I am sure that I was in the main index for a while. Otherwise, I can’t explain why I suddenly had “Similar pages” links, <META> information and a reference to the Google Directory category (although I wasn’t listed there, which is also strange).

When I think about it, my old site tesugen.org was listed with the current contents (just the text “Head on to Tesugen.com”) instead of as now, when the old contents are shown in the hits. Also, my pages at various wikis referring to this page was indexed – seemingly in the permanent index – but now are missing.

The above was posted to my personal weblog on April 26, 2002. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
