Fabriksbutiken keeps spamming me

This weird online factory outlet (or whatever) keeps spamming me with the excuse that Swedish law doesn’t prohibit spamming (which is true), and that they’re good guys since they end the subject line with “((a)) (reklam)”. I’ve asked them to stop, but they won’t.

They also claim that they got my e-mail address from a buyer’s club for brand clothing, but I’ve never signed up for something like that. I’ve asked them which company sold them my e-mail address, but I’m not expecting them to answer.

Swedish law says that spamming via fax or phone is only allowed if the person has stated that s/he allows this, but for other forms of remote communication, the person must state that this isn’t allowed. How this is supposed to be done, I don’t know. If you read this, I hereby disallow you to spam me!

The above was posted to my personal weblog on March 22, 2002. My name is Peter Lindberg and I am a thirtysomething software developer and dad living in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, you’ll find posts in English and Swedish about whatever happens to interest me for the moment.
